IT Manager

Responsible for maintenance and development of IT infrastructure for video game production studio with approximately 30 employees.

Designed and maintained Linux-based corporate intranet consisting of inter-office Wiki, multimedia forums, etc. to support needs of game development teams. Developed requirements and managed development for company's website projects. Wrote briefing documents to secure website project funding from Australian Capital Territory government. Built and maintained online store for company's direct-sales strategy, based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Worked with department leads and Operations Manager to develop comprehensive IT budget.

Built, upgraded, configured, and repaired desktops and servers. Diagnosed and fixed PC and network problems. Maintained technical support contracts and corresponded with technical support services to resolve problems. Managed software licenses and purchasing. Maintained hardware supply inventory. Worcester, MA. Spring 2003.

Worked as part of Software Quality Assurance team for Municipal Medicaid's web-based School Based Claiming application. Executed and revised (where necessary) written test plans to exercise functionality and test correct behavior of the application. Reported issues on the project's bug tracking system and communicated with developers to coordinate fixes and appropriate re-testing.

QWSINET Inc. (now defunct)

Northboro, MA, 1999-2002

Web Developer. Designed and implemented web sites for local businesses and musicians as well as some e-commerce sites. Communicated with clients on a daily basis to help refine look, function, and content of sites. Used PHP and mySQL, running in a UNIX environment, to build database-driven pages with HTML and Javascript. Helped train new employees in company's deployed technology (Linux, PHP, etc.) Assembly, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of company's Windows and Linux workstations.
